Thanks Liz. Writing about her made me remember that there were many happy years, rather than just a nightmare ending.

I am so sorry to read this Chris. When our pets are well and happy they bring us so much companionship and joy but their lives are so much shorter than ours and so we face the pain of losing them, often involving us taking the decision to end their suffering. Sending hugs to you and Lyn.

And sponking, mate is that a real word?

It is indeed, it’s Cymraeg but I anglicised it; it should be sbonc, as in sbonc llyffant, a frog hopper; sbonc meaning to leap, prance, particularly with all four feet off the ground, as with deer and sheep.

so sorry for loss Chris and Lyn and thank you for sharing your grief. I also believe we can have a more than human connection! RIP Cadi you'd obviously shared so much.

Thanks Chris. Indeed, human animal relations are as ancient as us. A consciousness raising experience on both sides.

Dogs are the best people. I’m sorry you lost your shadow. 🖤🐾

Thanks Carrie. Dogs are indeed people too. I have choices to make with my shadow, either to bring the lost elements of myself back into the light and become more of a whole person, or re-attach them to some other being. I didn’t mention in the post that Little Dog has also become real and has been living with us for several years. She has already taken up some of Cadi’s role- the shadow dance goes ever on!

RIP Cadi. Poignant story as our family has just expanded from 4 humans to an additional 2 small kittens found on a friend’s smallholding. What joy they bring!

Thanks Stefan. Enjoy them for all you can! Animals can bring delight to the whole family and are a consciousness raising experience for all, including the animals.
